The pressure builds

Back
Juventus vs Fenerbahce
The competition heats up as most teams are past the half-way point and go into crucial matches this week. The first of five matches is the Group 1 clash between Tottenham and Wolfsburg, which has the early kick-off time of 13:00 at Hotspur Way on Wednesday.

The first meeting of these two teams saw Spurs overcome a 1 – 0 deficit to emerge 3 – 2 winners in Wolfsburg, click here for the match report. With just three points now between the sides this is a vital game which could leave the winner in second place.

Fenerbahcè then take on Paris St Germain at the Maltepe Stadý at 16:00 the same day. The two teams sit in the bottom two places of their group, however with such close competition, victory would put either top. Click here for the table.

At 19:00 two more British clubs are in action at Firhill Stadium as Aston Villa travel north to face Celtic. Villa just edged victory in September in their first fixture; however they had the home advantage that Celtic will now be looking to capitalise on.

Wednesday’s final game sees PSV Eindhoven travel to the infamous Sporting/Puma academy to play top of their group Sporting. Currently it is only goal difference separating these two, so a win would put either team three points clear with just two group games left.

Olympique Marseille and Arsenal then round off the week’s action the following day at 17:00 at the Marcel Cerdan. Marseille will feel they have a point to prove in front of their home fans as they look to avenge August’s 3 – 0 loss.

With all but one of the groups seeing action over the two days, those likely to reach the knock out stages should begin to emerge before the week is up.
