Alex Pritchard
Tottenham Hotspur
Attacking midfielder
D.O.B: 03.05.93
As Wolfsburg line up against Tottenham Hotspur in London on Wednesday, the German side will be keeping an eye out for a particular midfielder, Alex Pritchard.
The nineteen-year-old stole victory for Spurs with a stunning fee-kick against them on their opening day of the season and hasn’t looked back, following it with inspiring performances against Barcelona and Anderlecht. (Click here for the match report.)
This is in fact his second year competing in the NextGen Series; he was an integral part of last season’s Tottenham side who made it to the quarter-finals. Along the way he scored four goals in just seven games from midfield, including another superb free-kick against champions Internazionale. (Click here for video.)
Pritchard is not only lethal in a dead ball situation, but can read the game well and has a number of assists to his name already. In a tough game at White Hart Lane against Barcelona last month, he put in a dogged performance in the centre of the park playing some dangerous through balls and even hitting the bar. His tenacity and attacking ability earned him a call up to the first-team for a Europa match last September. He was unfortunate not to make it off the bench; however with his current form it can’t be long until he does.
